Southeast Business Consultants reviews the 2014 State of the Union address

Last night, January 28th, President Barack Obama delivered his 2014 State of the Union address. Now, we usually stay out of all politics, but this article was too interesting not to share! And, because it relates to businesses and companies of all shapes and sizes, it applies to Southeast Business Consultants, as well.

What do you think of the address? Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the economy and business climate of the coming year?

Meet the Team: Introducing Holly and Paul!

holly and paul

Meet: Holly Ivy (nicknames: Holly Molly, Blondie, Dimples, Poison Ivy)

Hometown: Holly is originally from Jackson, TN and was brought to Nashville by her love of the city life! She also enjoys all the opportunities to grow personally and professionally. It’s an amazing place to be while she’s young!

This lady is single but patient. And clearly very wise for her age 🙂

Holly was recently promoted to team leader within her manager’s organization and is looking forward to becoming a business management trainee shortly. She plans to build up her team and open her own sales consulting firm in the next 14 months.

Her favorite aspect of working with Southeast Business Consultants is the challenge it provides and, of course, her awesome coworkers!

Favorite team night activity: she’s a rockstar, so Holly loves karaoke nights.

Future career/life goals: Holly is currently working on writing a book that, one day, she hopes to turn into a screen play and make a movie out of. She also plans to open her office by the beach so she can catch some waves in the morning and enjoy long walks on the beach by night.

In her free time, Holly can be found being creative and artistic. She enjoys writing, painting and being around her friends, family and other loved ones. She’s also incredibly active and loves walks with her dog and any outdoor event.

Favorite aspect of living and working in Nashville: Holly enjoys the vibrant night life and the fact that she’s constantly forced outside of her comfort zone. She finds a thrill in the unknown and constantly sees it as opportunity for growth!

Holly can get mean with a well-prepared steak from Longhorn and will eat anything Italian.

This girly girl loves pink more than anything!

She does believe in the accuracy of astrological compatibility and, as a Libra, she looks for a likeminded individual to spend her time with. The way Holly sees it, the study of astrology has been around since basically the beginning of time and, if something is studied and refined for so long, how can it not be true?!

Would you ever own a black cat: to Holly, cats are life! She thinks they’re so cute and sweet so…..yes!

Holly is irrationally afraid of chocking to death, especially in her sleep or on round fruits like grapes and cherries. Her friends call her a “choke-aphobic”. She also is terrified of crows or anything with creepy, crawly legs. (We are with you on that, girl! GROSS.)

holly and paul

Meet: Paul Apelles Berard (Nickname: AP, P-Dawg, Pauly B, PAB)

Hometown: he’s originally from East Nashville and returned after finishing his time with the military. Welcome back, Paul!

Relationship status: Paul is single and ready to mingle…ladies, watch out 😉

Role at Southeast Business Consultants: he is an account management marketer with a specialty in creating unique sales campaigns and grassroots marketing, specific to the Nashville demographic. We love having him join our team!

Paul’s favorite aspects of working at Southeast Business Consultants are the atmosphere and all of the endless advancement and growth opportunities. The fact that the business hires all upper management and executive positions completely from within the company structure is very attractive to his drive and goals.

His favorite team night activity is anything that involves sports, especially ones on trampolines or in pools!

Future career and life goals: Paul is looking forward to being an entrepreneur and opening his own sales and marketing consulting firm in the next 1-2 years.

In Paul’s free time, he enjoys going to concerts, especially country music ones. As a very social individual, he also likes frequently going out and meeting new people and making new friends; clearly, Nashville is the perfect place for him!

Favorite aspect of living and working in Nashville: he enjoys the thriving music scene and loves the fact that he can an see endless amount of concerts from a huge variety of genres.

Paul’s favorite food is meat. Any type of burger joint, chicken shack or steakhouse will be frequented by this military veteran. He can get mean with some beef!

His favorite color is silver. No one really knows why but he also only believes in the accuracy of astrological compatibility when it works out. So basically, no.

As a self-proclaimed dog lover, he would never own a black cat because he hates felines. However, he does own a black dog!

Irrational fear: abnormal hair colors, nose hair and crosswalks.

Stay tuned to get to know more of  our team!

Southeast Business Consultants reviews the 56th Grammy Awards!

Last night, our company coworkers all got together to watch music’s biggest night being broadcast across America from Los Angeles. And what a night it was!

While the females marveled at the gorgeous gowns and elegant hairstyles, the males enjoyed the funny red carpet questions and the tasty snacks provided…. by the females 🙂

It was such a fun night to enjoy, and even more fun to see some Nashvillians being recognized and awarded for their hard work. Just another reason why we are so in love with this amazing city!

This past weekend, the management team at our company flew to San Antonio, TX for our overhead company’s yearly “Keys to Success” Conference. The weekend was filled with promotions, success stories, motivational speakers and a whole lot of pumped-up managers.

The weekend began with an amazing group breakfast and an awards presentation to new business managers and assistant management promotions across the country. The high volume of individuals recognized reaffirmed the purpose and success of our company…it’s no wonder why we are the #1 outsourced marketing and business development company in the world!

Attendees continued with marketing strategy and business breakout sessions and focused specifically on improving the administrative side of our business. Recruitment and retention with new clients and primary customers was touched on, and our Nashville office was specifically congratulated and touted for improving our SMO/SEO by tenfold. It’s a nice feeling to be acknowledged for our hard work and improvements since last years’ Keys to Success.

Keys to Success concluded with the most exciting part of the trip: the employee bonuses and giveaways! We are so proud to announce that our company presented its’ consultants, managers, assistant managers, sales representatives and top admins with over 5 MILLION DOLLARS in bonuses. W-O-W! Southeast Business Consultants reviews Exit/In

This past weekend, some of the Southeast Business Consultants decided to concert-surf around some of the best venues in Nashville. From 3rd & Lindsley to The Stage and Tootsies downtown, the coworkers had fun spending time together listening to some of the best live music in America. And, one show stood above the rest. On Saturday night, they went to the beloved Exit/In in midtown to listen to a Talking Heads cover band and tribute, Same As It Ever Was. And, what a rockin’ time it was!

Same As It Ever Was (photo credit: http://www.exitin.com/calendar/)

Same As It Ever Was (photo credit: http://www.exitin.com/calendar/)

Bringing everyone back to the best of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, the band featured awesome guitar solos, humorous business suit attire, lots of tattoos and a lead singer with blue hair. The band mates in Same As It Ever Was put on a fabulous show, jamming to their favorite throwbacks and encouraging the audience to sing along and have fun. The venue was the perfect location for such an act, as well. With a large central dance floor, it wasn’t difficult to find a spot to enjoy the music in our large group. Exit/In also has this awesome balcony with high-top tables for those listeners who want to more ‘chill’ experience. And, two bars with ample bartenders allow for everyone to access the drinks they choose.

All the components came together for a wonderful musical experience for the coworkers. We couldn’t be happier to live in a place that provides so many entertainment options – Nashville is definitely a special place and we will absolutely be returning to Exit/In for another memorable experience.

Southeast Business Consultants reviews the Jeff Dunham Comedy Show

Last night, a few lucky top marketing representatives and business management trainees were bonused by management for their hard work with phenomenal tickets to go see comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham at Bridgestone Arena for his globally famous show. And what a riot it was!

Dunham came on around 8pm and immediately had the crowd clutching their guts in fits of laughter. Along with a slideshow of hilarious pictures from his past and his family history, he got the crowd going with cheesy little anecdotes and stories. He not only made celebrity rehab funny, but even brought a touch of flare and comedy to American politics and international events.

After their funny bones were warmed up in the arena, the Southeast Business Consultants in attendance were itching with anticipation for the show with Dunham’s “dolls” (puppets). He first brought out the dead terrorist, Achmed, and made jokes about being skinless and Obamacare (which definitely got the crowd going!), while maintaining taste and a respect for different viewpoints. Dunham continued with a few other characters and ended his show with his most famous puppet, Walter, a crusty old man with a perpetual frown and a distaste for anything enjoyable. Walter was the perfect way to wrap up the show, with his marriage jokes and fun poked at Miley Cyrus and twerking. The entire audience was dying with laughter!

Our coworkers in attendance brought back reviews of amazement at the unique talent Jeff Dunham possesses. He will regularly play up to four characters at once, with different voices and personalities, and never once get confused. And, when Dunham is talking as the puppet, his mouth moves only the most miniscule amount. It was so fun to see a man who worked so hard for his dream achieve it so completely! Wow!

We definitely had a fabulous time at the show and were quite impressed. The Jeff Dunham Comedy Show absolutely has our highest recommendation!
